You don't have to enter anything in the Generic Name or the Comment fields. Generic Name is more to identify the category or program, and whatever you enter under Comment appears in a tooltip when you pause your mouse over the icon.
This doesn't have to be the program name, but what you want to see on the desktop. Start by choosing a Name for the program. The first tab, Basic, is where most of the action takes place.
